This Law came in force in 2005 with 5436 numbered law. The state of Republic of Turkey pays special attention for the correct use of renewable energy sources since we are dependent to foreign countries for energy.

The purpose of this law is to generalize the use of energy sources for electric energy production purposes and to earn these sources to economy. The scope of this law is renewable energy sources which are other than fossil such as  hydraulic, wind, sun, geothermal, biomass, biogas, wave, flow energy and ebb and flood.
